Greetings & Salutations!

So once again, I have allowed myself to succumb to the lure of proscratination, which for some reason always seems to happen when I have the most to talk about. Weird. Anyway, here's a brief rundown of what's going on in SonsLand...

First of all I really must, however belatedly, thank everyone who came out and made our Aug 9th show at The Zephyr such amazing gig. It was the most fun we've had on stage in quite some time. No Quarter had the crowd really fired up after their energetic Led Zep set, and what a crowd it was! More than twice the attendance of our show on July 3, and so wildly enthusiastic (we could barely hear our singing over theirs on 'Wish You Were Here') that it lifted our energy to levels previously unknown. Add the truly heroic efforts of Fozz to get to the gig at all, and it all made for a spectacular evening, with everyone firing on all cylinders. What an incredible rush.

So...now what? A vacation? Chance to put our feet up? Nope! More excitement, adventure and really wild things!:-)

We begin with an interesting double-header at Club DV8 in Salt Lake City. The producers of the new documentary on the making of Dark Side Of The Moon are choosing to premiere their DVD release at various live events throughout the US, and we'll be providing them with the opening ceremonies on Tuesday, August 26 with a dose of FloydShow. Two days later, on August 28, we're back at DV8 as ourselves, opening up for Colin Blunstone with a short original set. The following week, we'll be heading back to the heart of Park City to play our first gig at Harry O's in quite some time. An opening set of SONS material, followed by a FloydShow which will feature a complete performance of the Animals album. Given our druthers, we'll be back at The Zephyr in October before taking the show on the road to Washington State in early November -- and in the meantime, we're getting ready to start working on songs for a new CD to be released next summer/fall. There will no slowing down anytime soon. :-)

Finally, I'd just like to take a moment to both thank and curse my friends (I'd say Doran, Travis & Krista if I was mentioning names...which I guess I am...) for turning me on to Buffy The Vampire Slayer, which I have been burning through as fast as my little eyes and brain can take it in. Never really watched the show when it was on the air for various reasons, but being a fan of sci-fi/fantasy/horror as well as a sucker for a good soap opera, it was only a matter of time before I had a chance to check it out for real. As it turns out, the show is wonderful from both of those angles and more -- some of the highest quality entertainment I have ever seen in any genre -- and at this point I would classify myself as hopelessly addicted. Having my wife home on vacation for the last little while has only exacerbated the problem as I have managed to hook her as well, and with no day job between us, we've been doing an awful lot of couch-potatoing during the past 2 weeks. We just finished Season 4, as well as the first season of the spin-off show Angel, and are currently jonesing for more input since DVDs of the next installments won't be available until later this year. Ach!

More to come...
