Headline: Second Bedroom Summit

Greetings & Salutations!

Last week, Matt and I had our first face-to-face since the May gigs, and took the opportunity to hold a sort of state-of-the-album summit. Although we've both been making progress individually over the past few months, the learning curve of our long-distance recording process has kept us from getting as clear a view of the big picture as we ideally might.

I'm happy to say that on many fronts, we're closer to completion than I expected. We're still looking at a release date that's too far in the future for me to estimate with any accuracy (in public, anyway) but this new dose of perspective has lowered my own frustration levels. After all, the most important thing is that we get it done right, not to get it done right now.

We also did some tracking, coaching each other through a few new vocal takes and refining a segue between two songs which I am excited about being able to bring closer together.

Finally, after much discussion we have decided to table the re-issue of One Left Turn until after, or at least closer to, the release of the new album. It was to be slated for this Fall, but...well, now it is this Fall, and any effort we put into that project is only going to delay the new recording further, and we've had just about enough of that.

One thing we are planning for this Fall, however, is a return to the stage. I'm inches away from confirming a few gigs for our friends in Utah, which I will announce as soon as they're locked in.

And in the meantime, I'll be traveling for the rest of the month, taking in a few shows myself..
